I built the method I wish I'd had when I started.
I'm an artist and founder of Serena Creando.
I've been working with clay for the past 10 years.
My work has an aesthetic people recognize, and once they do, they don't forget it. My pieces stop people mid-scroll. Collectors comment telling me they would love to own my art. Students tell me my work inspired them to finally take clay seriously.
That didn't happen by accident. When I was living in Sydney, I made a decision to stop fighting clay and learn from the artists who understood it at a structural level. That changed everything, not just my technique, but my eye, my confidence, and the way I think about what I'm making and why.
